What is PBIS?
PBIS is an acronym for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. It is a school wide program in which teachers, students, parents, and all staff work together to maintain a safe learning community by focusing on positive behavior. School behavior is taught directly and students are recognized when they display positive behavior. With PBIS, students will know exactly what is expected of them wherever they are at school.
At Newport School we expect students to:
1. Take Responsibility
2. Respect Themselves and Others
3. Stay Safe

Receiving a Dojo point
When students are seen displaying appropriate behavior, they are given a positive Dojo point. These Dojo points are then used to purchase items in our classroom treasure box or used to "buy" into a monthly PBIS celebration.
